TXFAME’s primary focus is to develop and grow a skilled pipeline of workers through the engagement of the current and future workforce in partnership with industry and the community.

Dive into a Challenging
Advanced Manufacturing Career

You’re smart, career-oriented, and ready for a well-paying career right now. With Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (TX FAME), you can dive into a challenging advanced manufacturing career while receiving the education needed to build your resume and make you highly marketable to manufacturers across the state.

Once you’re accepted into TX FAME, you will begin work on a combination education/training program to earn an associate’s degree as an Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT). During the week, you will attend classes at a local community college and work for a local employer – all while being paid a competitive wage for your work.

After five semesters you will have earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Advanced Manufacturing Technician Track, 60 college credit hours, and two years of work experience. At that point, you’ll be ready to enter the workforce full time with all the skills needed to succeed - and with the potential of no school debt!

If you are a recent high school graduate, transitioning military member, or an individual looking to move into a high tech, high paying career path, the FAME program could be for you.

This program is designed to give you hands-on experience while also providing you time to complete a two year associates degree. During the program, you will receive formal classroom training two days per week and work onsite at your sponsoring company three days a week. The program focuses on professional presence (soft skills), lean manufacturing acumen, and technical skill attainment. As a program graduate you will be ready to enter the workforce full time with the skills needed to be successful - and with the potential of no school debt!

GOLDEN TRIANGLE CHAPTER MANUFACTURING PARTNERS

On Tuesday, July 30th, the LSCO Shahan Center was the site for the 2024 Golden Triangle Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education Program’s (FAME) Signing Day. Seven students selected by one of five industry partners acknowledged their commitment to attain an Associate’s degree in Electromechanical Technology and complete an internship. LSCO would like to thank Fr. Sinclair Oubre, Carrie Phillips, and representatives from Golden Triangle FAME Chapter – Cloeren Incorporated, Chevron Phillips Chemical, United Rentals, KSB-Standard Alloys, and Buna Electric for their participation and continued support.

Candidates for FAME should be career-oriented, academically prepared students seeking rewarding work with attractive benefits who thrive within highly regimented, hands-on programs and are aiming to advance quickly in their career. All participants must be college-ready high school graduates interested in pursuing a concentrated two-year, debt-free degree and looking to gain a practical set of valuable and transferable technical skills.
