“Discover Your Claim to FAME!” Introduces Community to FAME Employers, Chapter

Muscle Shoals, March 3, 2020– Chapter employer members showed great support for the program, setting up tables, bringing equipment and displays, and being present all day for two Open House sessions—one for students, and one for parents and students.  The event was hosted by Northwest-Shoals Community College at the chapter’s Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) and attracted a strong crowd for both sessions.

“Muscle Shoals Chapter has some great employers like Essity, North American Lighting, TCM, and Freight Car America and their support is evident; I’m excited to watch their progress,” says Tony Davis, Senior Director of Workforce Initiatives at the Manufacturing Institute.

Entering just their second year, the Shoals chapter expects to recruit 20 first-year candidates for the Advanced Manufacturing Technician program. The Manufacturing Institute offers congratulations on a tremendous event and the growth of this FAME chapter.

“The dedicated staff at NW-Shoals serve as great examples of the type of support AL FAME receives from the Alabama Community College System; having a great college partner is a major boon for the success of these AMT’s,” continues Davis.
