Gulf Coast FAME is located on Florida’s Gulf of Mexico coast, centrally positioned in the state’s northwest region between Pensacola and Tallahassee. Gulf Coast FAME’s mission is to help develop the next generation of skilled workers in strong partnership with local Industry Partners, Gulf Coast Community College and the Bay EDA.
DIVE INTO A CHALLENGING ADVANCED MANUFACTURING CAREER
The Gulf Coast FAME Chapter is grassroots founded by Trane Technologies, Berg Pipe, Merrick Industries, Eastern Shipbuilding, ACMT, EPS and several others. Over time, this program is designed to create a pipeline of highly trained individuals who can transition to full-time employment upon graduation. For participating companies, this program is a critical pipeline for attracting skilled talent into their advanced manufacturing operations.
If you are a recent high school graduate, transitioning military member, or an individual looking to move into a high tech, high paying career path, the FAME program could be for you. This program is designed to give you hands-on experience while also providing you time to complete a two year associates degree at Gulf Coast State College. During the program, you will receive formal classroom training two days per week and work onsite at your sponsoring company three days a week. The program focuses on professional presence (soft skills), lean manufacturing acumen, as well as technical capabilities. As a program graduate you will be ready to enter the workforce full time with the skills needed to be successful and with the potential of no school debt!
